The Government Action Fair (SAGO) is a platform for the exchange and popularisation of national public policies between citizens and institutions. Every year, it attracts an average of more than 120,000 useful visitors and 250 exhibitors. SAGO is structured around exhibitions, live public sectoral conferences and numerous meetings. Each edition of SAGO is structured around a theme to make it easier for the public to appreciate what the public authorities are doing.
Aware of the challenge of making Cameroon an emerging country by 2035, the 12th edition of the Government Action Fair (SAGO), scheduled to take place from 22 to 29 July 2023, will focus on “Infrastructure development and structural transformation of Cameroon’s economy”. Indeed, one of the challenges to be met in the National Development Strategy 2020-2030 (NDS 30) is the development of infrastructures capable of significantly boosting the national economy, the ultimate aim being to satisfy the ever-growing needs of the population and other national and international partners. The structural transformation of the national economy therefore requires the construction and expansion of state-of-the-art infrastructure.
As a result, the development of infrastructure should undoubtedly contribute to a better structural transformation of the Cameroonian economy, which is not always the case in an environment that was once fraught with precariousness and marked by socio-economic crises (endogenous or exogenous), all in the interests of a quality public service geared towards economic growth and, consequently, towards the development of Cameroon. In response to the many infrastructure problems observed, the public authorities are nevertheless making remarkable efforts to rehabilitate or acquire new infrastructure.
